Psalm 61:1-2 Amplified Bible

“Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed and fainting; lead me to the rock that is higher than I [yes, a rock that is too high for me]. For You have been a shelter and a refuge for me. A strong tower against the adversary.”

God is the highest source of help and power and He is available to us! He listens and provides security. This is a continual comfort to me as I have faced adversity. The truth undergirds me. I stand on the firm foundation of this truth as I feel my feelings, and look out and observe my trials. I see the forces of darkness, my enemies, from this place of refuge where I am sheltered by the Most High God. I repeat the verses to myself as Truth anchors me and stills my anxious thoughts. I am seen, heard and protected by God. These are qualities in a healthy relationship and they are for you as well.
